Transformação de Produtos da Pesca e da Aquicultura no Domínio dos Investimentos Produtivos - Madeira

The grant aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira by enhancing the marketing, quality, value addition, and transformation of fishery and aquaculture products. This initiative focuses on sustainable aquaculture activities, decarbonization, the use of renewable energies, energy efficiency, circular economy, digitization, and internationalization.

• Investments in productive transformation and innovations promoting environmental and energy performance
• Entrepreneurship promotion through the support of startups and spin-offs
• Investments in the certification and promotion of sustainable fishery and aquaculture products

Examples of Eligible Projects to be developed

• A fish processing SME introducing a new line of sustainably sourced and packaged seafood products
• A startup focused on innovative aquaculture technologies promoting energy and water efficiency
• A project led by an SME in partnership with a research institute, developing a novel process for transforming underutilized fish species into high-quality food products

• Costs associated with investments in production, innovation, and environmental sustainability
• Expenses for certification, marketing, and patent registration of sustainable products
• Investments in marketing innovation, including significant changes in product design, packaging, promotion, and distribution

• Total budget for the grant: 770,000€
• Co-financing percentage: Up to 100%
• Minimum funding per company: 10,000€

• SMEs involved in the preparation, freezing, conservation, drying, and other transformation activities of fishery and aquaculture products
• Co-promotion operations led by an SME, also including higher education institutions, research labs, and non-profit private institutions focusing on R&D
• A financial structure showing at least 20% capital ownership for new businesses or individual entrepreneurs, and at least 15% financial autonomy for established companies
