Investimento no Dominio da Eficiencia Energética, Segurança e Seletividade - Mar 2030

The grant aims to support owners and operators of fishing vessels in mainland Portugal by promoting the competitiveness and viability of fishing companies. This initiative focuses on investments on fishing vessels intended to improve hygiene, health, safety, and working conditions for fishermen, promote the valorization and quality of fishery products, foster the digitalization of the activity, and improve energy efficiency to mitigate the effects of climate change and reduce the fishing impact on the marine environment.

• Investments on board of fishing ships or in individual equipment
• Investments in digitalization processes
• Investments in energy efficiency and modernization of propulsion engines

Examples of Eligible Projects to be developed

• Modernization projects that aim at replacing or upgrading main or auxiliary propulsion engines to enhance energy efficiency
• Digitalization projects onboard to improve operations, such as implementing advanced navigation or engine monitoring systems
• Collective actions led by associations or organizations to promote innovation, environmental protection, or professional training in the fishing sector

• Expenses related to the activities supported, excluding consultancy costs for application preparation or monitoring which should not exceed 5% of other eligible expenses or €3000
• Costs related to the security and hygiene, food quality, and work conditions on fishing vessels
• Investments to enhance navigation or engine control, improve traceability, and support commercial innovation

• Ações coletivas lideradas por associações ou organizações para promover inovação, proteção ambiental ou formação profissional no setor da pesca

• Total budget for the grant: 6,100,000€
• Co-financing percentage: Up to 100%

• Owners or charterers of fishing vessels registered in the national fleet engaged in maritime fishing (Class 0311 subclass 03111)
• Associative cooperative entities, producer organizations, and other nonprofit public or private collective organizations with interventions relevant to the sector
• Local authorities supporting fisheries professionals or their associations
