The main goal of this opportunity is to support the shift towards post-quantum cryptography by integrating new cryptographic algorithms into high-level protocols. It aims to help design and implement secure, post-quantum protocols, analyze their security, and submit them for standardization or open-source use. The opportunity focuses on ensuring these solutions remain compatible with existing systems and address specific needs in areas like IoT, cloud applications, and automotive technologies. Emphasis is placed on building security and privacy into both current and emerging technologies. Only legal entities from certain countries can participate.

- Projects must focus on integrating post-quantum cryptography algorithms into high-level protocols.
- They should produce post-quantum versions of protocols that ensure backward compatibility or equivalent security.
- Applicants must be legal entities established in EU Member States, Associated Countries, or OECD countries.
- Entities controlled by non-eligible countries or entities are not allowed.
- Proposals must follow specific page limits and layout requirements.
Examples:
- Developing a post-quantum secure communication protocol for IoT devices that remains compatible with legacy systems.
- Designing and implementing a post-quantum version of a widely used cloud authentication protocol, followed by submission to an open-source project.
- Conducting a requirements analysis and then upgrading an automotive cryptography protocol to post-quantum standards.

Restrictions: All eligible costs are covered under a lump sum scheme as defined by the Horizon Europe Programme. Only costs directly linked to the project objectives are eligible.
