EXIST Business Start-up Grant

The grant aims to support aspiring entrepreneurs and start-up teams in Germany by fostering the creation of innovative business ventures. This initiative focuses on nurturing business ideas into market-ready products and services, thereby enhancing economic growth and technological advancements.

Examples of Eligible Projects to be developed

• Development of a new software application that improves data analytics
• Creation of a sustainable product from renewable resources
• Implementation of an innovative service platform for elderly care

1. Monthly Stipend per Team Member

The monthly stipend for a maximum of three team members, based on their educational background:

• Students (who have completed at least half of their required coursework): €1,000 per month
• Graduates with vocational training: €2,000 per month
• University Graduates (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree holders): €2,500 per month
• PhD holders: €3,000 per month

Additionally:

• Child allowance: €150 per child per month, if applicable to any team member with dependents.

2. Project-Related Expenses

The grant covers essential project expenses with a budget allocated based on the size of the team:

• Individual projects: Up to €10,000 for project-related costs, including licenses, software, fees, and necessary investments.
• Team projects (up to three people): Up to €30,000.

3. Coaching and Consulting

• An additional allowance of up to €5,000 is provided specifically for entrepreneurial coaching and business consulting, which can cover training and advisory services that support business development.

4. Diversity and Mentorship Bonus

• If the start-up team includes diverse members (by gender, nationality, or origin), an additional €2,500 is available.
• An extra €2,500 is also available if the team secures a mentor to provide technical or business guidance.
