Climate simulations data and knowledge for optimal support of IPCC Assessments and International Policy

The main goal of this opportunity is to support the creation of reliable climate projections and simulations that inform decision-making and policy, especially for international climate assessments. It aims to help institutions access up-to-date climate projections under various future scenarios, including those that align with the Paris Agreement. The opportunity focuses on improving Earth System Models, designing simulations based on socio-economic scenarios, assessing the risks of exceeding warming targets, coordinating climate science efforts, and enhancing infrastructure for delivering both global and regional climate projections. International cooperation is encouraged, with a special focus on including countries from the Global South. This grant is part of the Horizon Europe Programme and is dedicated to advancing climate simulations and knowledge for global policy support.

• Projects must focus on generating scientifically robust climate projections or simulations.
• They should address at least one of the following: improving Earth System Models, designing climate simulations based on socio-economic scenarios, or assessing warming overshoot risks.
• Proposals must coordinate or involve climate science communities and enhance infrastructure for climate projections.
