Description

The main goal of this opportunity is to accelerate the development and application of innovative digital and biotechnological solutions to improve health outcomes. The focus is on advancing therapeutic tools such as cellular and cell-free therapies, generative AI for biomedical research, and bridging pre-clinical and clinical development. Priority areas include personalised medicine, digital health technologies, and fostering collaboration between researchers, biopharmaceutical developers, and clinicians. This grant is open to entities in the United States, EU Member States, and certain other eligible countries.

Admissible Projects

  • Meet all formal submission requirements, including page limits and layout.
  • Be led by entities from eligible countries, such as the US, EU Member States, or other specified nations.
  • Include clinical studies and provide detailed plans for these activities.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and regulatory standards for clinical trials.
  • Demonstrate strong financial and operational capacity.
  • Use Copernicus and/or Galileo/EGNOS services if employing satellite-based data.

  • A partnership between a US biotech company and European researchers to develop a cell-free therapy for rare diseases, including a clinical trial plan.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be from eligible countries as described in the Horizon Europe Work Programme General Annexes.
  • Legal entities established in the United States are specifically eligible to receive funding.
  • Projects using satellite-based data must use Copernicus and/or Galileo/EGNOS services.
  • Applicants must not be high-risk suppliers of mobile network equipment for certain topics.
  • All other specific eligibility conditions described in the relevant annexes must be met.
