Description

The grant aims to support municipalities and other public or non-profit entities in the Lisbon region by promoting the preservation, requalification, and enhancement of ecological structures. This initiative focuses on improving urban green spaces, protecting biodiversity, and enhancing the quality of life through ecological restoration and the creation of urban green infrastructures.

Type of Project to Develop

• Ecological Restoration Projects: Actions that restore and protect natural spaces, including creating green corridors and revitalizing degraded areas.
• Urban Greening Projects: Initiatives to create or enhance urban green spaces, such as parks, green roofs, and vertical gardens.
• Biodiversity Conservation Projects: Efforts to protect threatened species and habitats, including the creation of pollinator-friendly areas.

Eligibility Criteria

• Municipalities within the Lisbon region.
• Public or associative entities that operate without profit, in cooperation with municipalities.
• Private entities with relevant competencies, working in collaboration with municipalities.

Eligible Expenses

• Studies and Plans: Costs related to the development of ecological and urban planning studies.
• Construction and Restoration: Expenses for civil works, ecological restoration, and the creation of green infrastructures.
• Equipment and Technology: Purchase of monitoring systems, information technology, and necessary equipment.

Examples of Eligible Projects to be Developed

• Restoration of Degraded Urban Parks: Revitalizing a neglected urban park to improve local biodiversity and provide a recreational space for the community.
• Creation of Urban Gardens: Establishing community gardens in unused urban areas to promote local food production and community engagement.
• Development of Green Corridors: Connecting fragmented green spaces within a city to create continuous corridors that support wildlife movement and improve urban resilience.

• Total budget for the grant: 9,800,000€ 
• Co-financing percentage: Up to 40%
