Description

The main goal of this opportunity is to advance research and innovation in computing across Europe by providing annually updated roadmaps. It focuses on connecting areas such as cloud, edge, IoT, ultra-low power processors, chips, smart networks, and high-performance computing. The initiative also supports real-time computing, security, artificial intelligence, and generative AI for system engineering. Applications are encouraged from scientific, industrial, and societal domains. The opportunity further aims to strengthen the European Computing ecosystem through events, workshops, and networking activities across EU and associated countries.

Admissible Projects

  • Projects must comply with the page limits and layout specified in the Application Form.
  • Proposals should meet specific conditions outlined in the relevant topic of the Work Programme.
  • Projects must address research and innovation in computing, including areas like cloud, edge, IoT, AI, or high-performance computing.
  • Proposals should contribute to annual roadmap updates and support the European computing ecosystem.
  • Applicants should organize or participate in networking events and vision workshops.

  • A project developing a roadmap for integrating AI into edge computing for industrial automation.
  • An initiative organizing workshops to connect European researchers working on ultra-low power processors.

  • Personnel costs for staff involved in research and coordination
  • Costs for organizing and attending networking events

  • Equipment and software needed for roadmap development
  • Consultancy or expert fees for roadmap and ecosystem support

Eligibility Criteria

  • Consortium: Minimum 3 legal entities from 3 different EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries

  • Type of entities: Open to companies (any size), research organisations, universities, non-profits, public authorities, etc.

  • Legal status: Each participant must be a legal entity established in an eligible country

  • Topic fit: Proposal must directly address the scope and objectives defined in the call text

  • Ethics and security: Must pass ethics screening and comply with EU data/security regulations

  • Exclusion grounds: Applicants must not be bankrupt, under criminal investigation, or guilty of professional misconduct
