Description

This Research & Innovation Action (RIA) focuses on creating urban co-creation spaces to drive sustainable food system transformation. The aim is to develop inclusive, community-driven models that integrate food production, consumption, and waste management within urban settings. Projects should foster collaboration among local stakeholders, including citizens, local authorities, businesses, and civil society organizations, to co-design and implement solutions that enhance food system resilience, equity, and sustainability in urban areas.

Admissible Projects

  • Establish urban co-creation spaces that facilitate participatory processes in food system transformation.
  • Develop and test innovative models for urban food production, distribution, and consumption.
  • Address social inclusion, equity, and accessibility in urban food systems.
  • Promote circular economy principles, such as reducing food waste and enhancing resource efficiency.
  • Engage a diverse range of stakeholders, ensuring broad community involvement and ownership.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Consortia must comprise at least 3 legal entities from 3 different EU Member States or Associated Countries, with at least one entity from an EU Member State.
  • Entities must demonstrate financial and operational capacity as per Horizon Europe Grant Agreement annexes B & C.
  • Proposals must employ the multi-actor approach, involving a diverse range of stakeholders, including local communities, authorities, businesses, and civil society organizations.
  • Projects should align with EU policies on sustainable urban development, the Green Deal, and the Farm to Fork Strategy.
