Description

This is a Research and Innovation Action (RIA) aimed at overcoming barriers to scaling up circular water management in agriculture. The focus is on developing and implementing innovative solutions that enhance water use efficiency, reduce water waste, and promote sustainable water management practices in agricultural systems. The call encourages the adoption of circular approaches to water management, integrating technologies and practices that support the recycling and reuse of water within agricultural processes.

Admissible Projects

Proposals should:

  • Develop and demonstrate innovative technologies or practices for circular water management in agriculture.
  • Address challenges related to water scarcity, pollution, and inefficiency in agricultural water use.
  • Promote the recycling and reuse of water within agricultural systems.
  • Ensure scalability and applicability across different agricultural contexts.
  • Contribute to the EU's objectives on water sustainability and the Green Deal.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Consortia must comprise at least 3 legal entities from 3 different EU Member States or Associated Countries, with at least one entity from an EU Member State.
  • Entities must demonstrate financial and operational capacity as per Horizon Europe Grant Agreement annexes B & C.
  • Proposals must employ the multi-actor approach, involving a diverse range of stakeholders, including technology developers, end-users, and other relevant actors.
  • Projects should align with EU policies on sustainable agriculture, the Green Deal, and the Farm to Fork Strategy.
