Description

The main goal of this opportunity is to reduce household energy poverty in Europe by empowering and protecting energy-poor households. It supports actions that improve energy efficiency, remove barriers to energy renovation, and ensure that affected residents can remain in their homes after improvements. The program aims to foster social inclusion, enhance living conditions, and promote health and well-being for vulnerable households. There are two focus areas: one on policy and coordination among public authorities and stakeholders, and another on renovating residential multi-apartment buildings for energy-poor inhabitants. Proposals must involve partners from at least three different eligible countries.

Admissible Projects

  • Must be submitted by at least three applicants from three different eligible countries.
  • Should request up to 1,500,000 in EU funding, though other amounts are possible.
  • Must address either policy/coordination (Scope A) or building renovation for energy-poor households (Scope B).
  • Scope B projects should focus on renovating multi-apartment buildings, addressing governance and regulatory barriers, and ensuring residents can stay post-renovation.
  • Must quantify impacts using indicators like energy savings, renewable energy, and greenhouse gas reductions.
  • Must comply with proposal layout and page limits as per the call guidelines.
  • Should show collaboration, knowledge exchange, and alignment with initiatives such as the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub.

Examples:

  • A cross-country partnership develops a regional plan to coordinate energy poverty reduction policies among local governments.
  • A consortium renovates several multi-apartment buildings where most residents face high energy bills, ensuring affordable energy and preventing displacement.
  • Stakeholders work together to create a support network that helps energy-poor households access renovation grants and technical advice.
