Projects must be developed in the Norte, Centro, and Alentejo regions of Portugal.

Eligible Expenses

  • Remuneration for internal personnel working on the project.
  • Fees for external personnel or service providers, including those with VAT.
  • Travel, food, lodging, and transportation expenses for personnel (per diems included).
  • Travel and accommodation costs for external personnel, if specified in the service contract.
  • Specialized services for technical content production and evaluation studies.
  • Consumables, resources, and materials needed for project activities.
  • Costs for organizing events such as meetings, seminars, workshops, and participation in international conferences.
  • Production of informational and promotional materials.
  • Purchase of services, goods, and equipment.
  • Rents, leases, amortizations, and general operating expenses.

All expenses must be incurred and paid within the eligibility period, follow principles of economic rationality and efficiency, and be supported by evidence.

Financial Information

  • Total budget of the grant: €5,882,352.94
  • Co-financing rate: 85% (FSE+), with 15% national public contribution
  • Funding amount: €5,000,000
  • Minimum per project: €200,000 (projects with a total cost ≤ €200,000 are not eligible)
  • Maximum project duration: 36 months
  • Funding is provided as a non-reimbursable subsidy covering 85% of eligible costs, with the remaining 15% to be covered by the beneficiary through national public funds.
  • An initial advance of 10% of the approved amount is available, subject to specific conditions.
  • Reimbursement requires reporting on progress, with at least one request every 12 months for longer projects.
  • Non-compliance with communication rules can reduce funding by up to 3% of the eligible amount.
  • If project indicators fall below 80% compliance, financial corrections are applied; below 50% can lead to funding revocation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be entities managing recognized Centros Ciência Viva located in Portugal.
  • Projects must be carried out in the Norte, Centro, or Alentejo regions.
  • Operations must target the general population, especially students in non-higher education, their families, and educational professionals.
  • Applicants must comply with all operational requirements outlined in the application guidelines.
  • Applicants must not be subject to any impediments listed in the relevant regulations.
  • Only projects with a total cost above €200,000 are eligible.
  • Applicants must submit all required documentation, including a detailed project description and team profiles.
  • Compliance with rules on communication, transparency, and financial management is mandatory.
