Description

The main goal of this opportunity is to support projects that advance environmental and climate policies in the areas of nature, biodiversity, circular economy, and quality of life. It focuses on strengthening the development and implementation of relevant policies across the European Union. Key focus areas include biodiversity-friendly forest management, restoration of agricultural landscapes, sustainable neighborhood strategies, combating environmental crime, and promoting circular business models. Projects may also address water pollution through cross-border cooperation and support the implementation of sustainable product regulations. The opportunity is open to eligible countries as outlined in the official call document.

Admissible Projects

  • Projects must address specific policy priorities in nature, biodiversity, circular economy, or quality of life.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants: Legal entities (public or private bodies) based in EU Member States, their overseas territories, EEA countries, or other territories associated with the LIFE Programme. The project coordinator must also be based in an eligible country. 

  • Submission: Single-stage application via the Funding & Tender Opportunities portal.

  • Focus: Targeting ad‑hoc legislative or policy priorities related to environmental or biodiversity goals under the EU Biodiversity Strategy or Nature Restoration Law. Projects must propose innovative approaches, governance improvements, and capacity building. 

  • Priority topics: The call covers seven thematic priorities. One example is Priority 7: Climate Proof Pollution Alert model, which includes development of alert systems, capacity-building of water authorities, replication across river basins, and knowledge dissemination.
