The grant aims to support highly qualified human resources in scientific infrastructures, scientific and technological institutions, and Collaborative Laboratories in Algarve by hiring and integrating highly educated professionals. This initiative focuses on fostering innovation and increasing productivity in the region .

Eligibility Criteria

• Projects must align with the Smart Specialization Strategy for Algarve (RIS3)
• Applicants must be non-business entities from the Research & Innovation System including Collaborative Laboratories, Technological Centers, and the like
• Projects must be based in the Algarve region and provide onsite (non-remote) job positions

Eligible Expenses

• Expenses related to hiring highly qualified employees
• Operational expenses in scientific and technological adaptations
• Investments in infrastructure to support the integration and workplace adaptation of qualified resources

Examples of Eligible Projects to be developed

• Creating a new department within a technology incubator focused on digital innovation
• Integrating highly educated scientists into existing labs to work on specific projects that align with regional technological strategies
• Upgrading facilities in a research center to accommodate advanced scientific research and development activities

• Co-financing percentage: 60%
