Description

The main goal of this opportunity is to support the development of advanced technologies and systems for automating air traffic management (ATM) for all types of airspace users. It focuses on integrating new airborne automation solutions, future air traffic control platforms, and innovative air mobility services. Key areas include performance-based communication, navigation, and surveillance (CNS) technologies, detect and avoid capabilities, integration of remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), and robust navigation using advanced satellite systems. The opportunity aims to enhance safety, interoperability, and efficiency across diverse airspace environments.

Admissible Projects

  • Projects must address advanced ATM automation technologies or systems.
  • They should focus on integration with innovative air mobility or U-space platforms.
  • Proposals must consider performance-based CNS enablers or detect and avoid capabilities.
  • They must comply with page limits and layout requirements in the application form.
  • Projects must be compatible with the protection of European communication networks.
  • Eligible countries and participants are defined by the program's general annexes.

Example projects:

  • Developing a new detect and avoid system for drones operating in shared airspace.
  • Integrating dual-frequency GNSS navigation for improved ATM automation.
  • Testing automated air traffic control platforms that support both manned and unmanned aircraft.

Eligible Expenses

  • Personnel costs for project staff
