The main goal of this opportunity is to support research that will help shape the future regulatory framework for a Digital European Sky. It focuses on understanding the impact of automation on human roles in aviation and finding solutions for designing both AI and non-AI-based automation tools. The research aims to harmonize airspace classifications across Europe and enhance air traffic management safety by applying data-driven approaches like the Data4Safety program. Additional focus areas include human-AI teamwork, machine learning reliability, fatigue management, and integrating new technologies to improve safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability in aviation.
