The main goal of this opportunity is to strengthen fact-checking capabilities and coverage throughout the EU and associated countries. It supports the development and maintenance of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) platform, focusing on expanding language coverage and improving operational capacity for fact-checking activities. The initiative encourages collaboration among fact-checkers, researchers, and media literacy experts to counter disinformation, monitor online information spaces, and debunk false claims. Particular attention is given to building resilience among media professionals and citizens and addressing vulnerabilities in both EU and candidate countries. Efforts are also aimed at countering disinformation and foreign interference, especially from Russia.
