Autonomous triage and evacuation

The main goal of this opportunity is to advance innovative Robotic and Autonomous Systems (RAS) for battlefield triage and evacuation, especially in mass casualty situations. The focus is on improving casualty evacuation capacity, speeding up triage processes, protecting medical personnel from risk, and boosting life-saving chances in the early stages of evacuation. Priority areas include autonomous triage using artificial intelligence, integration of health-monitoring wearables, development of ethical decision-making algorithms, and creating modular, interoperable systems for logistics and multi-role use. The opportunity is open to research actions and aims to develop solutions for challenging environments, including CBRN and high-intensity conflict zones.

Restrictions: System prototyping, testing, qualification, certification, and lifecycle efficiency development are not eligible for funding under this call.
