The grant aims to support small and mid-sized companies in all regions of mainland Portugal by promoting their internationalization in research and development (R&D). This initiative focuses on enhancing their competitive capacity and supporting them in preparing and submitting proposals to European R&D programs.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be micro, small, or medium-sized enterprises or small mid-cap companies
• Enterprises must comply with the eligibility requirements as per the specified regulations
• The projects must fall within the priority areas of research and innovation strategies for intelligent specialization

Eligible Expenses

• Personnel costs related to the preparation and submission of the proposals
• International travel expenses for networking and meetings related to the proposals
• Consultancy services for proposal preparation and submission

Examples of Eligible Projects to be developed

• Developing an R&D project focusing on the digital advancement of industrial processes
• Participation in a European consortium for developing sustainable energy solutions
• Submission of a proposal to the Horizon Europe program for a new technology in material science

• Total budget for the grant: 5,125,000€
• Co-financing percentage: up to 50%
• Maximum funding per company: 50,000€ per action as a coordinator, 25,000€ per action as a partner
