Description
The main goal of this opportunity is to accelerate climate adaptation efforts at the regional and local levels across Europe. It aims to help at least 70 regional and local authorities develop concrete Action Plans for climate resilience, offering tailored knowledge and expertise to address local climate risks. The program focuses on understanding and managing climate risks, testing innovative adaptation solutions, engaging stakeholders, and leveraging funding for real-world actions. Priority is given to less developed and more vulnerable regions. The geographic scope includes EU Member States, Horizon Europe Associated Countries, and, under certain conditions, other countries with specific funding provisions.
Admissible Projects
- Projects must provide financial support to third parties (regional and local authorities in eligible countries).
- Supported authorities or their representatives must not have received funding from the Pathways2Resilience project, nor be located in covered territories.
- Proposals must comply with a maximum length of 70 pages and follow the required layout.
- Applicants must clearly describe how funding will be distributed to third parties.
- Projects must ensure at least 70% of the EU contribution is allocated for financial support to third parties.
Examples:
- A project that gives grants to municipalities in Eastern Europe to create local climate adaptation plans.
- An initiative supporting coastal towns in Southern Europe to develop risk assessments and action strategies for climate change.
- A regional partnership in a less developed area, funding stakeholder workshops and pilot adaptation solutions.
