Description

The main goal of this grant is to improve how research data is shared, used, and integrated within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). It focuses on making research data easier to find, access, combine, and reuse by promoting the adoption of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles. Projects should help develop tools and standards that make digital objects FAIR-by-design and support their use across different research fields. Collaboration with European data initiatives and alignment with EOSC technical standards are important. The opportunity covers countries listed in the Horizon Europe guidelines, with some additional provisions for certain non-EU participants.

Admissible Projects

  • Projects must support the integration and interoperability of research data in the EOSC ecosystem.
  • They should focus on developing or improving tools and standards for FAIR digital objects.
  • Proposals should promote automated data quality assessment and standardization.
  • Projects must align with EOSC technical specifications and foster cross-sector data use.
  • Collaboration with European data initiatives and relevant projects is encouraged.
  • Applications must follow the page limits and layout specified in the official application form.

Examples:

  • A project creating an open-source tool to check if datasets meet FAIR standards before publication in EOSC repositories.
  • An initiative that develops technical specifications for sharing digital objects between health and environmental research domains.
  • A partnership that builds a platform to automate the assessment of data quality and interoperability for cross-sector research projects.
