Description

The main goal of this opportunity is to boost cooperation between the European Union and the Republic of Korea in the field of quantum technologies. It aims to strengthen the European quantum ecosystem, promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and encourage sharing of best practices in deploying quantum solutions. The opportunity supports researcher and engineer exchanges for mutual access to quantum infrastructures and seeks to build a roadmap for future international collaboration. Focus areas include quantum communication, computing, simulation, and sensing, with interdisciplinary integration involving physics, engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, and infrastructure development. Activities are intended to benefit both the EU and Korea, with an emphasis on spreading excellence across Europe, including less-represented countries.

Admissible Projects

  • Projects must address quantum technologies in communication, computing, simulation, or sensing.
  • They should involve collaboration between organizations in the EU and the Republic of Korea.
  • Proposals must enhance knowledge exchange and access to quantum infrastructures.
  • Projects should integrate multiple disciplines, such as physics, engineering, and computer science.
  • Applications must follow the required proposal format and page limits.
  • Applicants must meet financial and operational capacity requirements.

Examples:

  • A joint research project between a European university and a Korean institute to develop secure quantum communication protocols.
  • An exchange program where EU and Korean engineers collaborate on building quantum sensors for advanced simulations.
  • A partnership to share best practices and develop training materials for quantum computing across both regions.
