Description

The main goal of this opportunity is to support the development of critical space Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) components within Europe. It aims to reduce reliance on non-EU sources by reinforcing EU strategic autonomy and creating resilient, secure supply chains for space missions. The focus is on technologies such as advanced microprocessors and ensuring supply chains are free from export restrictions. Only organizations based in EU Member States, Norway, or Iceland can participate, making this a highly targeted grant for the European space sector.

Admissible Projects

  • Projects must involve legal entities established in EU Member States, Norway, or Iceland.
  • Proposals must not exceed 80 pages and must follow the required layout instructions.
  • Projects should aim to mature critical space EEE components, reduce dependency on non-EU sources, and support EU strategic autonomy.
  • Applicants must ensure supply chains and products are not subject to export restrictions and provide thorough supply chain analyses.
  • Proposals targeting technology readiness level (TRL) 5 or higher must use appropriate space standards and deliver a complete data package.
  • Specific confidential deliverables, such as supply chain analysis and commercialization plans, are required within six months of project start.
  • Any entity controlled by non-eligible countries must provide guarantees to protect EU interests.

Examples:

  • A project to develop and qualify a new generation of space-grade microprocessors using only EU-based suppliers.
  • An initiative to establish a secure and export restriction-free supply chain for specialized EEE components critical to satellite missions.
  • A consortium project focused on testing and qualifying advanced EEE technologies in compliance with EU security and autonomy objectives.
