Description

The main goal of this opportunity is to test and validate advanced 5G and 6G technologies and measure their impact on key sectors through real-world trials and pilots. Projects should demonstrate clear benefits for one or two targeted verticals, such as health, transportation, or manufacturing. There is a strong focus on improving scalability, security, resilience, and performance, while also achieving positive societal, environmental, and economic outcomes. The initiative encourages the active participation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and contributions to open-source and standardization efforts. .

Admissible Projects

  • Validate advanced 5G/6G technologies through real-world vertical use-case trials, focusing on performance, scalability, and sustainability
  • Refine E2E 6G test infrastructures to integrate vertical-specific KPIs/KVIs across public and private networks
  • Develop and test viable business models and mature, adoption-ready solutions in 1–2 targeted verticals per project
  • Contribute to 6G standardisation efforts, foster open-source tool sharing, and gather lessons for future SNS programme phases
  • Engage SMEs, academia, and vertical stakeholders in demonstrations, and showcase European 5G Advanced and 6G leadership in public events

Eligibility Criteria

  • At least 50% of the project budget must be managed by SNS JU members (excluding the Union) and their affiliates.
  • Applicants must include a completed compliance table in the application form.
  • Only legal entities from EU Member States, Iceland, Norway, Canada, Israel, Korea, New Zealand, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom are eligible.
  • Entities from Russia, Belarus, or non-government-controlled territories of Ukraine are not eligible.
  • Entities controlled by high-risk suppliers of mobile network equipment are not eligible.
  • Entities controlled by non-eligible countries may participate only if they provide guarantees assessed by their host country to ensure no negative impact on European interests.
