The main goal of this opportunity is to support projects in the Algarve region that promote sustainability, protect biodiversity, and help adapt to climate change. The focus is on encouraging energy efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and increasing resilience to climate-related risks through ecosystem-based solutions. There is also a strong emphasis on recovering degraded environments and managing public forest areas to enhance their ecological value. Projects should contribute to environmental improvement and align with regional and strategic priorities in the Algarve (NUTS II area).

• Projects must align with strategic objectives and demonstrate clear impact, execution capacity, and quality.
• Projects must achieve a minimum score of 3.00 in the merit evaluation.
• Total project costs must exceed €200,000.
• Projects must be mature, with completed execution plans, licenses, and authorizations as required.
• Projects cannot be already completed or fully executed before the funding request.
• Applications must be submitted electronically with all required documentation.

• A municipality develops a new green park to restore local biodiversity, with all permits and plans in place.
• A regional authority launches a flood prevention project using ecosystem-based approaches, with a budget over €200,000 and detailed execution plans.
• An organization implements energy efficiency upgrades in public buildings, ensuring the project is not started before application and meets all maturity requirements.

• Services for studies, architectural and engineering projects directly linked to eligible operations
• Construction and engineering works
• Supervision and safety coordination services during construction
• Price revisions as per contract terms for executed works
• Tests and trials
• Acquisition of equipment, monitoring systems, IT, and software essential for project objectives
• Non-recoverable VAT on eligible costs
• Production of a video (for projects over €500,000) presenting the operation and its results
• Acquisition of essential land for the operation, within set limits
