The main goal of this opportunity is to support actions that protect water resources and manage water-related risks in the Alentejo region of Portugal. The focus is on increasing resilience to drought, reducing flood risks, and rehabilitating hydrographic networks. Interventions include restoring watercourses using natural engineering, removing obstructions, retaining water in headwaters, and preventing invasive species in water bodies. Only projects located in the Alentejo region (excluding certain parishes) are eligible.
Admissible Projects
- Projects must align with the types of operations and actions defined in the Alentejo Regional Program 2030.
- The project's objectives must match the specific aims of the opportunity, such as water resource protection and risk management.
- The total eligible cost of the project must exceed €200,000.
- Projects must not be completed or fully executed before the funding application is submitted.
- Projects must demonstrate readiness, including all approved public works documents, licenses, and authorizations.
- Projects must meet environmental, technical, and financial sustainability requirements, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and circular economy principles.

Eligible Expenses
- Acquisition of services for studies, architectural, and engineering projects directly linked to eligible operations
- Construction works and engineering tasks
- Supervision and safety coordination services during construction
- Price adjustments for completed works, based on contract terms
- Tests and operational trials
- Non-recoverable VAT on eligible costs
- For projects over €500,000: Expenses related to producing a one-minute video to present the project, with rights assigned to funding entities
