Adaptação às Alterações Climáticas ITI Água e Ecossistemas de Paisagem – Algarve

This call supports projects that strengthen climate change adaptation in the Algarve region, within the framework of the “ITI Água e Ecossistemas de Paisagem – Algarve e Alentejo.” It targets public and non-profit entities implementing nature-based solutions, improving water management, and enhancing ecosystem resilience. Projects must align with regional adaptation strategies and contribute to sustainable territorial transformation.

• Projects implementing nature-based solutions for climate adaptation

• Initiatives that improve water retention, reuse, and efficient management

• Actions that restore or preserve ecosystems to enhance climate resilience

• Operations aligned with regional adaptation plans and water–landscape strategies

• Projects must have clear environmental impact and measurable adaptation outcomes

Examples of Admissible Projects:

• A municipality implements green infrastructure to manage urban flooding and enhance biodiversity

• A water management entity creates a pilot system for treated wastewater reuse in agriculture

• An environmental NGO restores a degraded wetland to support flood control and habitat recovery

• Technical studies, diagnostics, and planning related to adaptation and water–ecosystem management

• Design, implementation, and monitoring of nature-based solutions

• Acquisition of equipment and materials strictly necessary for project execution

• External consultancy and technical assistance

• Communication, awareness, and environmental education actions

• Project coordination, management, and external audits

• Travel and accommodation directly related to project implementation

• Non-recoverable VAT on eligible expenses

Co-financing rate: Up to 60%
Maximum value per company: €250,000
Minimum value per company: €1,000,000

• Applicants must be public entities or non-profit private entities

• Projects must align with the ITI “Água e Ecossistemas de Paisagem – Algarve e Alentejo” action plan

• Operations must contribute to climate change adaptation and ecosystem resilience

• Public procurement must comply with green public procurement principles

• ICT-based projects must show measurable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions

• Required licenses, authorizations, or favorable opinions must be secured where applicable
