Execução da EDL do GAL Litoral Rural – Património Cultural: Afirmar a Cultura e a Identidade Marítima

This incentive supports small-scale projects that contribute to the economic, social, and environmental development of coastal communities in the Oeste region. It aims to diversify the local economy, preserve maritime identity, and promote innovation and sustainability in the blue economy.

• Must be implemented in one of the eligible coastal municipalities within the GAL Costeiro Oeste territory.

• Must align with the Local Development Strategy (EDL), specifically contributing to:

  • Enhancing the value of fishery and aquaculture products.

  • Promoting low-impact and circular economy solutions.

  • Supporting maritime cultural heritage and coastal tourism.

  • Strengthening community resilience and local employment.

  • Integrating digital and low-carbon solutions in maritime sectors.

Examples of Eligible Projects:

• A local business setting up a direct-sale outlet for certified local fish products.

• A community group restoring traditional fishing boats for tourism and educational activities.

• An organization creating a mobile app for promoting sustainable coastal tourism routes.

• Construction or adaptation of buildings or small infrastructures.

• Acquisition or adaptation of equipment, machinery, and digital tools.

• Renewable energy systems for self-consumption.

• Development of communication materials, signage, or digital platforms.

• Intellectual property registration, certification, studies, and consultancy.

• Hosting services for digital tools (up to 12 months).

• All expenses must comply with national and EU funding regulations and de minimis limits.

Total budget of the grant: €280,000

Co-financing rate: 70%

Maximum value per operation: €75,000

Minimum value per operation: €25,000

• Non-profit legal entities only, including:

  • Associations

  • Cooperatives

  • Local development associations

  • Foundations

  • Educational and research institutions

  • Other organizations with non-profit purposes

• Projects must be implemented in the coastal municipalities covered by GAL Costeiro Oeste.

• Applicants must:

  • Be in good standing with tax and social security authorities.

  • Not have any pending recovery of public funding.

  • Have the technical and financial capacity to carry out the project.

• Projects must align with the Local Development Strategy (EDL).

• Maximum duration for project execution is 24 months.
