Ações de monitorização e Estudos - ITI Água e Ecossistemas de Paisagem – Algarve e Alentejo

This call supports actions for water resource management in the Alentejo and Algarve regions, particularly monitoring and studies aligned with the “Integrated Territorial Instrument for Water and Landscape Ecosystems.” It aims to strengthen resilience to climate change, improve hydrological data and water quality analysis, and support decision-making for flood events and water demand. The eligible projects must align with regional action plans and sustainable water management strategies.

• Projects that support monitoring and analysis of water quantity and quality

• Initiatives that improve knowledge on water use efficiency and availability

• Actions focused on forecasting and responding to droughts, floods, and climate-related hydrological risks

• Projects aligned with regional water planning instruments and sustainability goals

• Non-commercial operations led by public or non-profit entities for regional benefit

Examples of Admissible Projects:

• A research institute develops a real-time water quality monitoring system for river basins in Alentejo

• A public entity leads a project to map groundwater resources and predict drought impacts in Algarve

• An intermunicipal network creates a flood risk forecasting model using regional data and climate projections

• Technical studies, diagnostics, and modeling related to water quantity and quality

• Data collection, monitoring systems, and sensors for hydrological variables

• Purchase of equipment and specialized software necessary for project implementation

• Consultancy and technical assistance services

• Information, communication, and awareness activities

• External audits and evaluations

• Project coordination and management costs

Total budget of the grant: €1,650,000

Co-financing rate: Up to 85%

Maximum value per company: €500,000

Minimum value per company: €200,000

• Applicants must be public or non-profit associative entities 

• Operations must align with the ITI “Água e Ecossistemas de Paisagem – Algarve e Alentejo” action plan

• Applicants must demonstrate financial capacity to execute the operation

• Public procurement must follow green public procurement principles

• Projects involving ICT must demonstrate measurable GHG emissions reductions

• Required authorizations or favorable opinions from sectoral entities must be obtained where applicable

• Only real costs incurred by the beneficiary are eligible

• Maximum execution duration: 48 months
