It supports projects that align with strategic development goals, contribute to environmental objectives like climate change mitigation and adaptation, and promote sustainable resource use. Additionally, it emphasizes cultural promotion and social inclusion, encouraging projects that integrate new cultural spaces in degraded areas and complement existing strategies for collective efficiency and social inclusion.
Admissible Projects
Be promoted by municipalities located in the Centro region (NUTS II).
Focus on the rehabilitation, modernization, or qualification of existing museums—new construction is not eligible.
Involve buildings of municipal interest, especially those classified under heritage laws.
Integrate environmental sustainability measures, such as:
- Energy efficiency
- Emission or noise reduction
- Water use efficiency
Demonstrate a sustainable management and financing model post-intervention.
Have a positive technical opinion from the Direção Regional de Cultura do Centro.

Eligibility Criteria

Be a municipality located in the Centro region (NUTS II).

Own or manage the museum or cultural building targeted by the intervention.

Ensure the building is classified or in the process of classification as a property of municipal interest.

Be in a regular situation regarding tax and social security obligations.
