The grant aims to support micro and small startup companies in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area by promoting business creation and development. This initiative focuses on fostering innovation, enhancing research and development (R&D) capacities, and strengthening the integration between businesses and scientific communities.

Type of Project

• Creation of new businesses and startups resulting from R&D projects
• Development of projects with a strong focus on knowledge enhancement
• Expansion in technology and creativity-intensive areas

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a micro or small enterprise in the startup phase, operational for no more than 5 years
• Cannot have acquired another business or distributed profits
• Must have at least one full-time employee with a qualification level VI or higher on its payroll

Eligible Expenses

• Purchase of equipment and machines necessary for the business operations
• Acquisition of software and other technology-related resources
• Costs related to consultancy, engineering services, marketing plans, and architectural projects

Examples of Eligible Projects to be developed

• A tech startup creating a new software solution involving significant R&D
• A business in the creative industry developing innovative design tools
• A research-driven company launching a novel environmental solution

Financial Information

• Total budget for the grant: 3,000,000€
• Co-financing percentage: 40%
• Maximum funding per company: 500,000€ to 750,000€ depending on the location within the metropolitan area
• Minimum funding per company: 200,000€ in eligible expenses per project
