Creative Europe - Films on the Move 2025

The measure supports companies in the European Union, promoting the distribution of European films through projects that enhance their visibility across multiple platforms. It aims to increase the competitiveness of European films by encouraging their circulation both in the EU and internationally, fostering audience reach and expanding market potential.

Type of Project

• Projects that promote the pan-European theatrical and/or online distribution of European films
• Projects that develop marketing campaigns for European films targeting audiences across borders
• Projects that encourage collaboration between sales agents, distributors, and other audiovisual partners
• Projects that address the distribution of non-national European films in various territories

Eligibility Criteria

• Companies legally established in EU Member States or countries associated with the Creative Europe Programme
• European sales agents acting as intermediaries between film producers and distributors
• Projects must focus on the distribution and promotion of European films outside their country of origin

Eligible Expenses

• Up to 60% co-funding of eligible costs for the distribution and promotion of European films
• Costs associated with marketing campaigns, subtitling, dubbing, and audiovisual enhancements
• Support for online and theatrical releases, including coordinated pan-European distribution strategies

Financial Information

• Co-funding percentage: Up to 60% of eligible costs through the Creative Europe Programme
• Maximum funding: EUR 150,000 per project for major markets, with lower amounts for smaller markets
• Companies must present a marketing and sustainability plan to ensure the success of distribution efforts after funding​
