The grant aims to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises and social economy entities in the Algarve region by encouraging the creation of employment and micro-enterprises. This initiative focuses on promoting entrepreneurship and job creation, particularly targeting disadvantaged populations and areas with low population density.

Type of Project

• Creation of self-employment through new businesses
• Establishment of new permanent jobs within new or expanding existing businesses
• Creation of new permanent jobs in social economy organizations

Eligibility Criteria

• Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises with organized accounting
• Social economy entities as defined by the relevant law
• Projects located in the Algarve that create on-site employment

Eligible Expenses

• Direct personnel costs associated with the project
• Investments in tangible and intangible assets
• Costs related to project preparation, development, and evaluation

Examples of Eligible Projects to be developed

• A small start-up focusing on eco-tourism that creates six full-time jobs
• A new local artisan bakery expanding its workforce by hiring three bakers
• A social enterprise developing a community recycling project that employs persons with disabilities
