It supports research and innovation activities that promote food systems sustainability, foster international cooperation, and help drive a global shift to sustainable agri-food systems. The partnership targets key areas such as agroecology, nutrition, agricultural knowledge, and innovation systems, while addressing challenges within planetary boundaries. Collaboration is encouraged across Europe, Africa, and other regions, with emphasis on engaging a wide range of stakeholders and integrating social sciences and humanities. The initiative seeks to strengthen synergies with related EU efforts and co-create solutions for sustainable food systems over a seven to ten-year period.
