Description
The main goal of this opportunity is to strengthen and expand the European partnership on animal health and welfare. The focus is on supporting ready-to-use tools and innovations, encouraging their adoption by farmers, veterinarians, and stakeholders, and providing science-based policy advice. The program aims to fund new and ongoing activities, foster international collaboration, and include additional partners from a broad geographic scope. Special attention is given to widening participation, especially in Central and Eastern Europe, EU outermost regions, and through global initiatives like the EU-Africa Partnership on Food and Nutrition Security and Sustainable Agriculture (FNSSA).
Admissible Projects
- Project proposals must be submitted by the coordinator of the existing European partnership on animal health and welfare consortium, though new partners can be added.
- If using satellite-based data, projects must use Copernicus and/or Galileo/EGNOS services.
- Projects must follow specific page limits and layouts as outlined in the application guidelines.
- Participants from eligible countries, including some non-EU and non-Associated countries with specific funding provisions, may apply.
- The consortium must demonstrate both financial and operational capacity.
- Projects should focus on additional priority activities and align with the partnership’s strategic agenda.

- A research project developing new digital tools for monitoring animal health that uses Copernicus satellite data.
- A training network for veterinarians in Central and Eastern Europe to promote best practices in animal welfare.

Eligible Expenses
- Costs incurred from the starting date of the action, if justified in the application
- Financial support to third parties in the form of grants
- In-house activity costs, including research and innovation tasks
- Networking and partnership-building expenses
- Training and capacity-building activities
- Organization of joint calls and transnational project coordination
- Science-based policy advisory activities
- Travel and meeting costs for international collaboration
- Purchase or use of satellite-based earth observation and navigation data (Copernicus, Galileo/EGNOS)
Restrictions: Financial support to an individual third party is generally limited to EUR 10,000,000, unless a higher amount is justified. The EUR 60,000 threshold for third party funding does not apply.
